Cookies & Bars

Fan Favorites

You’ve told us which of the cookie recipes we’ve posted you love. Here’s three of the fave raves…

Hidden Chocolate Kiss Cookies

My family has a long tradition of making LOTS of holiday cookies.  We have several different cookies we make each year –recipes that have been handed down from family and friends–and we  bake large quantities, then give them away as gifts.  In fact, there are people that literally email or call to make sure they are still on the list each year… the cookies are that good!

Everyone has their favorites but these Hidden Kiss Cookies are always a hit!  They look like a basic butter cookie with powdered sugar but … there’s a Hershey’s Kiss when you bite into this cookie!

My boys love them, especially when they first come out of the oven and the chocolate is still warm!

Recipe is from my Aunt’s friend years ago, they are super easy to make (only 7 ingredients), which is a good thing since I usually make several batches each holiday season.

Chocolate Dipped Walnut Acorn Cookies

As promised, I’m sharing my family’s holiday cookie recipes, and this is one of my personal favorites… Chocolate Dipped Walnut Acorn Cookies.

Original recipe from my Grandmother, these are adapted to be gluten-free and vegan.

The cookie itself is not too sweet, has a slight nutty flavor and a texture somewhere between chewy and crunchy. Dipped in chocolate, they are melt in your mouth YUM!

Happy Baking!

Cinnamon Snowballs

My family has a long tradition of holiday cookie baking and we have many recipes from family & friends that we look forward to each year. Everyone has a favorite and these are the favorite of my son and my niece.

They are not too sweet, have a great cinnamon and nutmeg flavor, and that perfect buttery cookie texture somewhere between chewy & crunchy.

And this batch is not only gluten-free but Vegan too!

The origins of this recipe: my Aunt, who got it from a Swedish friend she met in weaving class in the 1970s… seriously, that’s where we got it from. Beyond that, all I know is that we’ve been making them for as long as I can remember and they are really yummy!

So this season, let it snow Cinnamon Snowballs!
