Power through with Bliss Bites!

When we have planned a busy weekend ahead, we make up a batch of Bliss Bites to power us through!

Recipe adapted from Alicia Silverstone’s The Kind Life, they are made¬†with walnuts, dates, Barney Butter almond butter, gluten-free oats, Enjoy Life Foods minichips, maple syrup and vanilla – all rolled in coconut.

Perfect pick-me-up snack during the day, they’re packed with nutrients and really yummy!

Walnut Bliss Bites
One of our favorite bliss balls, these are packed with nutrients and delicious! Recipe adapted from The Kind Diet by Alicia Silverstone.
Recipe type: Snacks, Breakfast
Cuisine: Gluten-free, Vegan
  • ½ cup walnuts
  • ½ cup pitted dates
  • ½ cup chocolate chips (we used Enjoy Life Foods Mini Chips)
  • ½ cup maple syrup
  • ½ cup almond butter (we used Barney Butter Smooth)
  • ½ tsp vanilla extract
  • ¼ tsp seat salt
  • ½ cup whole almonts
  • 2 cups shredded unsweetened coconut
  • 2 tbsp gluten-free oatmeal (optional)
  1. Place walnuts in food processor and mix for 30 seconds or until coarsely chopped.
  2. Add in dates, and pulse until well mixed with the nuts.
  3. Add the chocolate chips and pulse 5 times to break down a bit and combine with nuts and dates.
  4. Add maple syrup, almond butter, vanilla extract, salt and oatmeal if using. Mix until smooth and thick.
  5. Stream almonds while mixing, and process about 30 seconds or until they are in small chunks.
  6. Form in your hands (about the size of a golf ball) to shape.
  7. Roll the balls in coconut to cover.
  8. Put in a sealed container and store in refrigerator or freezer.
